Laos Highlights
Departure day : Daily
Validity : 01 October 2011 – 30 September 2012
Applicable for : A minimum of 2 persons
Itinerary : To say: “I’ve been to Laos” you need to visit two places: the capital city of Vientiane and the World Heritage city of Luang Prabang. Discover the beauty of Laos’s finest cultural sites and visit local handicraft villages as you cruise along the great Mekong River.

Day 1,  Arrive in Vientiane  (-/-/-)

Meet your guide either at the airport or the border and transfer to your hotel. Visit Wat Sisaket and Wat Prakeo, the former royal temples, That Luang stupa and a national symbol of Laos and Patouxai, Laos’ triumphal arch.

Day 2,  Luang Prabang  (B/-/-)

Morning flight to Luang Phrabang. Upon arrival your guide will take you to your hotel.  Visit the National Museum, housed in the former royal place, Wat Xieng Thong, the stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Mai. Then climb to the top of Phousi Hill for its gilded stupa and great views of the sunset over the city and Mekong River.

Day 3,  Luang Prabang  (B/-/-)

Those who rise early will be privileged to offer food to the monks on their daily morning alm’s round. After breakfast, stroll along to Big Brother Mouse, a local bookstore where the cultural and linguistic exchange can be experienced before starting a cruise on the Mekong River. Make stops at Pak Ou Caves filled with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues and the whisky-making village of Ban Xang Hai; your chance to try the fire water of Laos! On the way back, visit a traditional hand-weaving village. The rest of the day at leisure.

Day 4,  Luang Prabang  (B/-/-)

A free day for you to explore the charming city of Luang Prabang or try some of our optional half-day tours: ride the magnificent animals at the Elephant Village, discover the secrets of Lao cuisine at a cooking class, or take a traditional basket weaving or batik course.

Day 5,  Luang Prabang to Airport  (B/-/-)
Transfer to the airport for your next destination.
