Day 1, Arrive in Hanoi (-/-/-)
Arrive in Hanoi and transfer to your hotel. Ease your day with a Water Puppet show, a unique traditional art of Vietnam.
Day 2, Hanoi to Lao Cai (B/-/-)
Enjoy a guided city tour to visit Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and his former residence, the One Pillar Pagoda and Temple of Literature. After lunch, visit the Historical Museum, Tran Quoc Pagoda, Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple. Spend your evening shopping in the Old Quarter area before transferring to Hanoi train station for an overnight sleeper to Lao Cai.
Day 3, Lao Cai to Sapa (B/-/-)
Arrive in Lao Cai and set off on the first day of an enthralling trip up Mount Fanxipan, at 3,143 metres the highest mountain in Indochina. Travel by road to the first Black Hmong village to begin your trekking adventure. During this strenuous trek to the peak, you will visit several hill-tribe villages and discover the different cultures of each tribe. After roughly five and a half hours through the jungles, streams and bamboo forests you will reach your first camp site at 2,800 metres. You can help your guide prepare dinner and have the first night of your camping experience.
Day 4, Camp site to Fanxipan peak (B/-/-)
Trek a further for five hours, crossing pine and yellow bamboo forest until you reach Fanxipan peak. Now you have conquered the roof of Indochina. Spend some time to enjoy the view from the top and return down to the camp site for your second night on the mountain.
Day 5, Camp site to Sapa (B/-/-)
This is the third and the last leg of your trek. Take a different route down to the foot of Fanxipan. En-route, discover the lives of different hill-tribe people and visit Silver Waterfall. Then return Sapa and enjoy some free time to explore Sapa town.
Day 6, Sapa to Hanoi (B/-/-)
A day at leisure to explore this charming town, go shopping in the local markets or perhaps take a bike ride to Binh Lu town. In the late afternoon transfer to Lao Cai for the overnight sleeper back to Hanoi.
Day 7, Hanoi (B/-/-)
Arrive early in Hanoi and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day free for you to explore Hanoi in your own way.
Day 8, Hanoi to Halong Bay (B/-/-)
Travel by road to the famous Halong bay, located 180 kms northeast of Hanoi. Cruise around the bay, passing by Dog Island, Incense Burner Island, Fighting Cock Island and many more. Visit Sung Sot Cave and take a dip in the warm waters at Titop Beach. Enjoy a sunset dinner and spend the night on board relaxing, drinking or fishing.
Day 9, Halong Bay to Hanoi (B/-/-)
Cruise toward islets of Man’s Head and Tortoise and then visit Luon Cave by a traditional bamboo rowing boat. Continue cruising to Bai Tu Long Bay and then head back to Halong pier for the transfer back to Hanoi with the rest of the afternoon at leisure.
Day 10, Hanoi to Airport (B/-/-)
At leisure until transfer to the airport for a flight to your next destination.
