Applicable for : A group of minimum 2 persons
Itinerary : Leave Bangkok behind and head up to the beautiful North of Thailand and experienced the different cultures of the many ethnic groups who live there. In this short trip you can visit Chiang Mai‚ learn about elephants‚ visit hill–tribe villages and enjoy the idyllic peace and beauty of Mae Hong Son.

Day 1 - Bangkok to Chiang Mai ( -/-/- )

Late afternoon transfer to the station for the overnight train to Chiang Mai. 

Day 2 - Chiang Mai ( -/-/- )

Arrive Chiang Mai early morning and transfer to the hotel. Take a tour to Doi Suthep Temple, spectacularly located on a mountain top at an altitude of 3,520 feet with splendid views of the surrounding countryside. Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 3 - Chiang Mai ( B/-/- )

In the morning visit an elephant working camp and see the elephants take their morning bath before giving a demonstration of how they were trained to haul lumber in the forest. Take an optional elephant-back ride through the forest or return to Chiang Mai for an afternoon at leisure to explore the town.

Day 4 - Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai and back to Chiang Mai ( B/L/- )

Early departure to Chiang Rai by minibus. Make a short stop at a hot spring and then continue to the famous Golden Triangle were Thailand, Myanmar and Laos meet. Visit Yao and Akha hill-tribe villages and then continue to the border town of Mae Sai, with a stop for lunch along the way. Located just across the Sai River from Myanmar, the town has a thriving market based on cross-border trade. After exploring Mae Sai set off back to Chiang Mai.

Day 5 - Chiang Mai to Mae Hong Son ( B/L/- )

Fly* to Mae Hong Son and transfer to hotel. Take a boat trip in the afternoon along the Pai River to the Karen village of Ban Nam Piengdin. Return to Mae Hong Son for overnight.

Day 6 - Mae Hong Son to Chiang Mai ( B/L/- )

Visit Wat Phra That Doi Kong Moo and enjoy magnificent views of the valley and the mountains stretching into Myanmar and the twin lake-side Burmese-style monasteries of Wat Jong Klang and Wat Jong Kham. Transfer to the airport for a flight* back to Chiang Mai.
