Golden Triangle
A Taste of North Thailand

Applicable for : A group of minimum 2 persons
Itinerary : The trip is a perfect introduction to Northern Thailand‚ its diverse people and their cultures‚ its spectacular scenery and historic heritage. Visit the North’s two most important cities‚ Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. Take a boat ride and perhaps an elephant ride too if you are feeling adventurous. Travel to the famous Golden Triangle‚ the border town of Mae Sai‚ and hill–tribe villages. All in just six days!

Day 1 - Bangkok to Chiang Mai ( -/-/- )

Late afternoon transfer to the station for the overnight train to Chiang Mai. 

Day 2 - Chiang Mai ( -/-/- )

Arrive Chiang Mai early morning and transfer to hotel. Take a tour to visit Doi Suthep Temple, spectacularly located on a mountain top at an altitude of 3,520 feet with splendid views of the surrounding countryside. Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 3 - Chiang Mai ( B/-/- )

In the morning visit an elephant working camp and see the elephants take their morning bath before giving a demonstration of how they were trained to haul lumber in the forest. Take an optional elephant-back ride through the forest or return to Chiang Mai for an afternoon at leisure to explore the town.

Day 4 - Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai ( B/-/- )

Travel by road to Chiang Rai and take a boat trip on the Mae Kok River.

Day 5 - Chiang Rai ( B/-/- )

Early departure for a tour around the famous Golden Triangle where Thailand, Myanmar and Laos meet. Visit Yao and Akha hill-tribe villages and then continue to the border town of Mae Sai. Located just across the Sai River from Myanmar the town has a thriving market based on cross-border trade. Return to Chiang Rai for overnight.

Day 6 - Chiang Rai ( B/-/- )

Termination of the tour after breakfast.
