Yangoon & Bagan (4 Days)

Day 1, Yangon (-/-/-)

Transfer from own hotel to the airport for own morning flight to Yangon, flying time approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.  Arrive Yangon Airport. After clearing Immigration & Customs, you’ll be met and welcomed by your local guide and transfered to your hotel. Check-in and relax for a while. Afterwards, visit Sule Pagoda and City Hall, Karaweik Hall and Royal Barge, on the Kandawgyi Royal Lake, and Chaukhtatkyi,  the Reclining Buddha. At sunset go to the great Shwedagon Pagoda, one of the most impressive Buddhist shrines in the world. Overnight in Yangon.

 

Day 2, Yangon/Bagan (Nyaung U) (B/-/-)

After an early breakfast, transfer to the airport for own flight to Bagan. Arrive Nyaung U airport and transfer to hotel in Bagan. Then visit the major temples of Shwezigon, Ananda, Dhammayangyi, Thatbyinnyu and Sulamani. In the afternoon, explore Minn Nan Thu village where you can see the local farmers’ way of life; weaving and the making of wooden-wheeled ox carts and then on  to Kyaungbe village to see the making of rice-noodles in the traditional Myanmar style and to MyinKaba village to see family lacquer-ware workshops. Overnight in Bagan.

 

Day 3, Bagan (B/-/-)

Breakfast at the hotel and then continue to explore the famous temples of Mingalazedi, Gubyaukkyi, Ma-nu-ha Temple, Law-ka-nanda, Shwe-san-daw and watch the fantastic sunset over the Ayeyarwaddy River from one of the tallest temples. Overnight in Bagan.

 

*** Bagan, a historic capital of Burma and known as “the city of four million pagodas”, is the richest archaeological site in Asia, and today is considered one of the wonders of the world. The temples, stupas and pagodas of Bagan are the most impressive relics of the first period of Burmese greatness offering a rich architectural heritage from the 11th to 13th century. Situated on the eastern bank of Ayeyarwaddy River, Bagan covers more than 42 square kilometers.

 

Day 4, Bagan/Yangon/Bangkok (B/-/-)

Early breakfast at the hotel and then transfer to the airport for own flight back to Yangon. Drive to the downtown area for shopping at Bogyoke (Scott) Market, Yangon’s busiest and liveliest market, before departure by own flight. (Departure flight must be the last flight of the evening.)

Termination of the tour.
