jungle life experience
Chiang Mai Jungle Adventure
Departure day : Monday , Saturday ,
Validity : 01 November 2011 – ­­ 31 October 2012
Applicable for : A group of minimum 2 persons.
Itinerary : An opportunity to explore the deciduous forest of northern Thailand and learn the charming culture and way of life of the local hill tribes. Without consuming too much energy you will experience an adventurous trekking‚ a fantastic elephant riding and an exhilarating bamboo rafting.

Day 1 - Bangkok to Chiang Mai ( -/-/- )

Late afternoon transfer to the station for the overnight train to Chiang Mai. 

Day 2 - Chiang Mai ( -/-/- )

A day to explore the city of Chiang Mai. Arrive early morning and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day at leisure with an option to visit some of the greatest temples or one of Thailand’s tallest mountains of Doi Suthep.

Day 3 – Depart for trekking ( B/L/D )

Your highlight begins here. Trek through the tropical forests learning about flora, fauna, and the secrets of jungle herbs. After arriving at the Karen village, the choice is yours. You can swim, explore the village, learn how to do bamboo weaving, make traps, or perhaps join your guide in preparing the evening meal. Enjoy your first dinner in the jungle follows by an evening talk with the hill-tribe villagers and discover their legend.

Day 4 - Trekking ( B/L/D )

A journey on foot passing the rice and vegetable fields of the villagers and learn their methods of cultivation. Explore the surrounding forests to study the local environment and learn how to survive in the jungle. After lunch, trek for another two hours to the Karen village of Baan Mae Ma Nai. Enjoy fishing at Mae Tang river by local instruments and learn the technique of constructing a bamboo raft. Afterwards time for another refreshing swim and dinner preparation. Dinner and overnight at the rafting camp.

Day 5Trekking and return to Chiang Mai ( B/L/- )

Watch the elephants take their daily bath in the stream before riding on their back through unspoiled natural forest. Then enjoy the exhilarating bamboo rafting down Mae Tang river. Stop en route at a small Lahu village and continue to a Shan village for lunch. Return to Chiang Mai and transfer to the hotel.

Day 6 - Chiang Mai ( B/-/- )

Your trip ends after breakfast.

§ Transport: Air-conditioned/non air-conditioned remote areas, 2nd-class air-conditioned train with sleeping berth from Bangkok to Chiang Mai.

§ Misc: Local English-speaking guides and all activities as specified in the itinerary, including admission fees, with instruction where necessary
